An 8-day journey from Marrakech through Morocco’s most iconic destinations: imperial cities, the blue town of Chefchaouen, ancient Roman ruins, and the Sahara Desert. A perfect blend of history, culture, and landscapes.
Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech → Casablanca → Rabat
Early departure from Marrakech. Stop in Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque (exterior or interior). Continue to Rabat to see the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohamed V, and Kasbah of the Oudayas. Overnight: Rabat.
Day 2: Rabat → Chefchaouen
Drive north via Kenitra and Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, the blue city. Free afternoon to explore the medina and viewpoints. Overnight: Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fez
Travel to the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Short visit to Meknes (Bab Mansour, El Hedim Square). Continue to Fez. Overnight: Fez.
Day 4: Fez (Full Day Tour)
Guided visit of the medina: Chouara Tannery, Bou Inania Madrasa, Andalusian quarter. Overnight: Fez.
Day 5: Fez → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Merzouga
Pass through Ifrane ("Morocco’s Switzerland") and the cedar forests of Azrou. Continue via Ziz Valley to the desert. Arrive in Merzouga for a sunset camel trek and night in a Berber camp.
Day 6: Merzouga (Desert Day)
4x4 excursion to nomad villages, kohl mines, and gnawa music in Khamlia. Free afternoon for dunes and sunset. Overnight: Desert camp.
Day 7: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Ouarzazate
Early departure via Rissani, Erfoud, and Todra Gorges. Pass through Dades Valley. Arrive in Ouarzazate, optional visit to Kasbah Taourirt. Overnight: Ouarzazate.
Day 8: Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Visit Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO site). Cross the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka pass. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
